Clean Energy Cashback, also known as the Feed-in Tariff, is a government initiative designed to encourage more people to generate energy within their homes via renewable energy systems.
The system is designed reward clean energy production via payments for every kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity you generate and use from renewable energy sources.
Additionally the scheme also allows for payments to be made from the big six energy suppliers to those who generate a surplus of energy in their own home which is passed onto the National Grid.
Currently the Clean Energy Cashback scheme allows for payments over the next 20 years for the electricity you generate from a renewable energy source within your home which is extended to 25 years if you install solar photovoltaic(PV) panels.
This is all in addition to the savings that will be made as a consequence of using less energy from your current electricity supplier.
