Apprentice of the Year Award

Scott attended CHS's training centre while he was in his final year of school on a day release basis. He studied gas central heating systems, gas safety and awareness. When he left school he joined the company as an apprentice full time. He accompanied engineers four days a week for his practical experience and spent one day per week studying theory in the classroom at CHS's in-house training centre.

Scott is one of the youngest qualified gas service and maintenance engineers in the industry. CHS describes Scott as putting his heart and soul into his training and subsequent assessment at an external assessment centre, and that his unerring commitment to improving himself is a commendation to The Wavell School, his trainers and all those involved in his personal development.

Judges were impressed with Scott's progress and commitment considering his age, adding: "There were some excellent candidates and it was challenging to separate them and come up with a winner."
